40t Overhead Crane

Installed during the initial stages of the power station's construction, the Babcock and Wilcox 40t overhead travelling crane was used to assemble machinery and plant, as well as assist in later extensions and maintenance.

At the time of its operation, the overhead crane was fitted with mechanical brakes which at the time, was a new feature but has since been superseded.
